The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen *Review*

A big thank you to St. Martin’s Publishing for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.  The twists in this book threw me for a loop and pleasantly enough I did not see them coming at all, winning!  I was kept on edge the whole way through and it delivered such a unique and layered story line that was fun to read.  I rate it 4 stars!

“She is oblivious to what I have done to her.  She is unaware of the damage I have wrought; the ruin I have set in motion.”

Goodreads Synopsis

When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous wife and her obsession with her replacement.
You will assume you are reading about a woman about to enter a new marriage with the man she loves.
You will assume the first wife was a disaster and that the husband was well rid of her.
You will assume you know the motives, the history, the anatomy of the relationships.
Assume nothing.

My Experience

I really enjoyed the writing style in this and I hope Greer and Sarah team up again sometime soon because this was really well done.  The plot had so many different aspects that it made for such a refreshing domestic thriller.  I did see some of the twists coming, but there were others thrown in that I would have never guessed and I absolutely loved that.  There is nothing better then being completely caught off guard and just thinking “woah how did I not see that coming that was crazy!”  The characters were all really interesting as well and I couldn’t stop thinking about them whenever I had to put the book down for a minute.  I don’t want to go too much into it because I don’t want to give anything away but everyone was really well developed.

The only real negative to me was that the second half of the book was slow.  It dragged a bit and kind of made me less interested for a while.  It did pick up again closer to the end drawing me back in and I needed to find out how it would end.  Even up to the last page there were twists I wouldn’t have ever guessed so that made the slowness of the read more worth it.

Overall, this is perfect for any thriller fan and especially those who love being totally surprised by twists. I highly recommend it!
