Book of Judas by Linda Stasi

Thank you so much Forge Books and Get Red PR for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.  I give this thriller a 3/5 star rating!

A new adventure in Alessandra Russo’s life has her investigating the Gospel of Judas and some of its lost pages that have now come into her possession.  Linda Stasi writes about a well known mystery and brings it to new life in this fictional thriller.  A cross between The DaVinci Code and National Treasure, I was left wanting to know about the real mystery behind the Gospel of Judas.  While the story fell a bit flat for me, I enjoyed reading about such a unique topic and I was definitely intrigued to see what would happen to Alessandra along the way.

Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco

4.5/5 stars! I LOVED this book so much!  I enjoyed it much more than the first one!  A lot of that probably has to do with the fact that I live for creepy, secret passage way, castle type feels and with Audrey Rose and Thomas tucked away at Bran Castle that is exactly what this story delivered.  I only fell more in love with Audrey Rose and Thomas all while being sufficiently enthralled with their surroundings and the case at hand.  This has become a new favorite!

“Humans were the true monsters and villains.  More real than any novel or fantasy could invent.”

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

What do you get when you blend together unsolved historical cases, women fighting societal expectations, and romance?  Answer; an incredibly fun mystery that you won’t want to put down! Stalking Jack the Ripper is fresh and spunky and I enjoyed every second of the adventures with Audrey Rose in the late 1800’s.  While at parts a little slow and maybe a tad predictable I rate this exciting debut novel 3.5 stars!

“What is a man’s soul made of that a woman’s is not?”

All the Dirty Parts by Daniel Handler

Thank you Bloomsbury Publishing for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I genuinely am unsure what to rate this book, let alone what to think about this book.  I guess I will say 2 stars.

“There are love stories galore, and we all know them. This isn’t that. The story I’m typing is all the dirty parts.”

If There’s No Tomorrow by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Thank you so much Harlequin Teen and TLC Book Tours for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I rate this emotional read 3.5 stars! A story about how one decision can impact your tomorrow, Jennifer explores the consequences of certain choices and the changes gone through after these actions.  While I found a bit of the story to be forced and a little uninspired, being similar to many story lines out there, the writing was well done and the characters were easy to relate too.  This was a perfect afternoon read when you’re feeling the need for something eye opening and emotional all while having a cute romance to make you swoon.

“Because sometimes happily-ever-after existed only in the books I read.”

Her Royal Spyness Solves Her First Case by Rhys Bowen

Thank you so much Berkley Publishing for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I rate this 3.5 stars.  I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Georgie while being whisked back to the 1930s in England.  I loved everything about the settings and all the nods to new age language being used by Americans and living in the culture of the 30’s.  A humorous female sleuth in the royal blood line starting out on her first mystery, this book was equal parts mysterious and endearing.

“I wonder how many people have had life changing experiences while on the loo?”

There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins

Thank you so much PenguinTeen for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review!  I am stuck between a 3.5 or 4 star rating.  So on my Goodreads I have it rounded to 4 Stars!

I had a really fun time reading this book and I won’t lie when I say I jumped a little that night after I finished reading, worried there was someone lurking around.  You know when Halloween time starts to roll around and you just want to sit and watch some slasher movie that isn’t the worlds best, but it is just so perfect for the time and mood?  Thats exactly how I would describe Stephanie Perkins’ newest novel.  A high school slasher with your average dose of romance and sex and tons of gory bits to keep you on edge.  While the exact reason behind the killings and some of the “secrets” leave a little to be desired, the overall experience was fun and well worth it.   I soaked in this bloody, thrilling read in a day and I enjoyed every second of it.
