Uprooted by Naomi Novik *Review*

Huge thank you to Random House for sending me a copy of Uprooted in exchange for an honest review.  This has been on my TBR for years and I am so glad I finally got to it, I loved it!  This book is whimsical and beautiful, breathing new life into an old classic.  It felt entirely like its own story while having small traces of being a retelling.   Uprooted read like a fairytale mixing in action, adventure, romance, and danger, all flowing perfectly to create a master piece.  I give this 4.5 stars!!

“There was a song in this forest, too, but it was a savage song, whispering of madness and tearing and rage.”

What Blooms From Dust by James Markert *Review+Book Tour*

Thank you so much TLC Book Tours for sending me copy of this book and for having me on this book tour!

From the second I started reading this book I had a southern twang voice in my head narrating as I read.  I loved that this book sucked me in to the Dust Bowl era and Midwestern vibe.  Slow moving but filled with hope and forgiveness I gave this book 3.5 stars.

The Garden of Blue Roses by Michael Barsa *Review+Book Tour+Giveaway*

Thank you so much TLC Book Tours for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and for having me on this book tour!  An odd story with bits of dark humor thrown in, a mystery and an eccentric unreliable narrator built up this unique gothic fiction.  As a debut novel this was really well done and I’m excited to see what is next for Michael.  I gave this 3.5 stars!

“I didn’t trust his death.  Father was an author. He was words.  You can’t kill words.”

My Name is Venus Black by Heather Lloyd *Review*

Thank you so much Penguin Random House for sending me a copy of My Name Is Venus Black in exchange for an honest review.  This debut novel was emotional, full of second chances and forgiveness, I really enjoyed it and gave it four stars!

“The stupidest little thing we do can alter the future for so many people.  That means everything you ever did, you almost didn’t do.”

Bone Music by Christopher Rice *Review*

Thank you so much Amazon Publishing and LMS for sending me a copy of Christopher Rice’s new novel in exchange for an honest review.  I really enjoyed Bone Music, it was completely unique and very refreshing.  I haven’t read a story quite like this one and it made it that much more engrossing.  A badass female lead with a dark history, entertaining side characters, thrills mixed with science, all elements that added to make this a four star read!  I can’t wait to see where this series goes.

“Imagine witnessing a murder before you know what death is…”
