Thank you so much Harlequin Books and TLC Book Tours for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and for having me on this book tour! Debra Webb’s newest mystery had me hooked from page one, reading quickly along with the twists and turns. Fast paced, dark, and creepy I rate this 4 out of 5 stars!
THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD! I could not put this down and here I was going into it thinking I would like it but it wouldn’t be a favorite as its marketed as a psych thriller. Nope, it is not a psychological thriller at all and its odd they marked it that way, it’s a ghost story/mystery and it is one of the best books I have read this year. I cannot wait to go and pick up more of Jennifer’s books. Five out of five stars!
“Madness is always a wonderful excuse, don’t you think? For doing terrible things to other people.”
Boy was I a fool to wait so long to read my first Christie book! I know this one is incredibly famous and I believe I even watched the movie as a kid, although I can’t remember for sure, I enjoyed this book and read it all in only a few hours. All the stars!
“One little Indian boy left all alone; he went and hanged himself and then there none.”
What happens when you love every single character in a book, but one of them could actually be a murderer? You hold on to the edge of your seat until the end just waiting for the bomb to drop! Entertaining from page one this book pulls you in with lovable characters and a lingering sense of mystery keeping you guessing who exactly is telling the truth and who is lying. I rated this fun read 4/5 stars!
I received Final Girls as one of my picks for my September Book of the Month club box and was very excited! This book had been getting rave reviews and I was ready for a fun slasher. While it ended up being more of a psychological thriller I still rated this book 3.5/5 stars (rounded to 4 on my Goodreads) and enjoyed it a bit more than I thought I would considering I usually dislike psych thrillers. With twists I didn’t predict and creepy flash backs making me feel like I was in a horror movie, this book was a perfect start to my Fall TBR.
4.5/5 stars! I LOVED this book so much! I enjoyed it much more than the first one! A lot of that probably has to do with the fact that I live for creepy, secret passage way, castle type feels and with Audrey Rose and Thomas tucked away at Bran Castle that is exactly what this story delivered. I only fell more in love with Audrey Rose and Thomas all while being sufficiently enthralled with their surroundings and the case at hand. This has become a new favorite!
“Humans were the true monsters and villains. More real than any novel or fantasy could invent.”
What do you get when you blend together unsolved historical cases, women fighting societal expectations, and romance? Answer; an incredibly fun mystery that you won’t want to put down! Stalking Jack the Ripper is fresh and spunky and I enjoyed every second of the adventures with Audrey Rose in the late 1800’s. While at parts a little slow and maybe a tad predictable I rate this exciting debut novel 3.5 stars!
“What is a man’s soul made of that a woman’s is not?”
