Starting off with a bang, I was immediately drawn into the danger surrounding Shauna and her family with a murderer on her tail. I wanted to know who the killer was and why they were killing. However, although the beginning pulls you in the rest of the book is a little disjointed and didn’t always feel convincing at times. I rate this mystery 3 stars.

The Lucky Ones by Tiffany Reisz is weird in a way that makes you unable to look away, it draws you in and before you know it you’ve devoured this dark tale in one sitting. With definite “Flowers in the Attic” vibes this book will grab you from page one and make you question what is right and what is wrong all the way until the very end. I rate this unique story 3.5/5 stars!

Do we ever truly know the people we are closest too? Best Friends Forever explores the haunting realities of the deception and lies of those closest to us all while keeping the reader guessing until the very end, “who dun it?” A quick read because you won’t want to put it down, I rate this thriller 4 stars!

The Chalk Man is my first read of the year and I am so glad it was! An easy 5 stars. This fast paced mystery hooked me from chapter one and kept me guessing until the very last page. As much as this is a mystery it also reminds us that all of our choices and decisions have consequences. What we choose to do and to tell others has just as much impact on our lives as what choose not to do or tell. A very important lesson wrapped up in a creepy, page turning, mystery.

3.5 stars out of 5 stars!(rounded to 4 on Goodreads since they don’t do half stars and I think it deserves it) I really enjoyed this book. It reminded me why I love crime/mystery books so much and that need to keep reading and find out all the answers. I finished this in one day, the shorter chapters made me feel like I was breezing through the read and the little cliff hanger at the end of most chapters kept me pushing forward. I expected some of the outcomes of this book, but others came to me as a complete surprise. Nothing like a good mystery to keep your nose in a book for a day!
